Down The Rabbit Hole

From dark in the last post to light in this one; a graveyard to a field of flowers.  That’s why it’s called Fashion 360° I guess.

I don’t normally do cute, girly costumes, but this new release from Reasonable Desires called “Oh Alice!” will have to be the exception to my rule.  It’s Alice all grown up and sexy so how could I say no?  Besides, how fun would it be to go around hunting for those looking glasses while dressed in this Alice outfit?  (Though Reasonable Desires does have a looking glass for you to find.)

Lucretia, My Reflection

27 05 2009

I love it when an outfit immediately has me singing lyrics to one of my favorite songs, and this is the case with a new release, Lucretia, from Reasonable Desires.  As soon as I saw the add for this and started spontaneously singing Sisters of Mercy, I knew I had to have it.  Austie Pegler was generous enough to send it to me in addition to all of the other new realeases, some of which I will be showing you in upcoming posts.  But for now…

I hear the sons of the city and dispossessed,
Get down, get undressed
Get pretty but you and me,
We got the kingdom, we got the key
We got the empire, now as then,
We don’t doubt, we don’t take direction,
Lucretia, my reflection, dance the ghost with me

Sweet and Girly?

25 05 2009

Why, yes.  Sometimes even I go sweet and girly and when Camilla Yosuke of Insolence sent this new summery bra and panty set over, I knew it would be a girly morning for me.

Callie Cline Appreciation Day Part 2

22 05 2009

Just a quick post to show Callie a bit more appreciation for everything she did for us last week. I’d be remiss if I didn’t blog one of my favorite Callie Cline dresses, the formal Citron Lane.

Callie Cline Appreciation Day

21 05 2009

Last week’s Blogger Appreciation Week was amazing, culminating in a day of fun parties where the “uniform” of the day was white tank tops and jeans. It was really interesting to meet some of my fellow bloggers and a few designers as well.  Of course I had to snap a photo.

The sheer amount of gifts has been a bit overwhelming.  I’m in awe at the generosity of the designers and of all the hard work that went into organizing such an event.  It’s a credit to those involved that all ran smoothly and drama-free.

I really never thought about myself being a big part of the fashion community.  I just write my little blog, do my own thing, and hope that the people that do read these pages will perhaps look at fashion in a different way or find a store they’ve never heard of before.  I don’t write to be part of the “fashion press” as some have put it.  But in a way, I guess we bloggers do provide press for designers, and I can imagine that up and coming designers especially benefit from being blogged.  And while I never really thought about my role in the SL Fashion Community before, I have to say, it was nice to be appreciated.

Of course, Blogger Appreciation Week would never have happened if not for the thoughtfulness and creativity of SL Fashion’s own Callie Cline.  I’d never really had any interaction with Callie before Blogger Appreciation Week.  I found her to be very nice and approachable, friendly and kind.  Generous goes without saying as she gave so much of her time and creativity to pull this whole event off, not to mention gifts from her store.  Because of all she has done, today has been declared Calle Cline Appreciation Day, and I thought I’d show you one of my favorite pieces from her very eclectic collection.  In the spirit of cooperation Callie so beautifully showed us this past week, I’m going to pair her wonderful design with an array of interesting pieces and see what kind of fun looks I can come up with.
