Getting Into Trouble

5 04 2010

This is not a typical blog post…

Steeling my nerves, I opened the door of the A-1 Detective Agency and stepped across the threshold, eyes zeroing in on the man I was here to see.  He was sitting behind a desk, shirt only half buttoned but his hat still firmly in place.  I blinked once, twice and then shut the door firmly, striding over to stand in front of the desk.  He didn’t even look up from the stack of papers he was signing.  I gripped the belt ties of my trench coat and waited for him to acknowledge my presence in the room.  And he would acknowledge me.  I was, after all, standing in front of his desk.  Besides, if all else failed, what I was wearing underneath this coat was sure to get his attention.

My hands tightened on the ties as he finally looked up with a raised eyebrow.

“You lost, doll?” His tone was far less helpful than his words.

I shook my head, trying to remain calm and collected, but truth was he made me a little nervous.  Okay, a lot nervous.  He was so much more…male than I expected him to be.  Tall, dark, and handsome was the cliché that came to mind, but with a healthy does of mysterious and sexy to round out the equation.  Why, oh why did I have to be attracted to him?  This would make what I had to do that much harder in the long run.  “I need your help.”

December Warmth

29 11 2009

Winter is fast approaching and that means the cold and snow will be here before I’m ready.  That is always the case in RL since winter is my least favorite season.  I don’t really care for snow.  However, Shiryu Musashi of Musashi-Do has created a coat so fabulous you won’t mind traipsing through the cold white stuff as you do your holiday shopping.

The Life of a Lingerie Model, Part 2

6 06 2009

A few weeks ago, IndigoBlue Dagastino of Seldom Blue contacted me about shooting some photos of her new line of lingerie called Kira.  Of course I jumped at the chance, not only because I love lingerie, but because this set is named for one of my oldest and dearest SL friends, Kira Lebed.  I was even more thrilled that Kira and her lovely partner Katia Hartshon were my models for that shoot.  You can see some of the photos from that in the entryway to Seldom Blue.  It’s really very cool to have your work on display in a store.  And, lucky me, IndigoBlue Dagastino was nice enough to gift me with two colors of the Kira set, Nude and Lilac.  After shooting every color Kira comes in, I have to say they are all exquisite, but these two colors stood out the most for me.

One of the places I shot Kira and Katia’s photos was at Chouchou, Chouchou.  I am absolutely enamored with shooting lingerie there for some reason, especially in the bird cage.  I think it’s an interesting concept shoot, and for the blog I decided to take the Kira lingerie back there.  Only this time, I got to be both model and photographer.  Lucky me!

The Life of a Lingerie Model

2 06 2009

**EDITED**

I’m on a lingerie kick again.  I know, when am I not?  This time I decided to have some fun and play lingerie model in MDR’s city box.  It was a great chance to set out some of my very underused props, such as the photo lights from Le Boudoir.  But what to wear?  That’s always the question, isn’t it?  Thankfully, I was delighted to learn that Reasonable Desires had a new set called Arcadia.

Callie Cline Appreciation Day Part 2

22 05 2009

Just a quick post to show Callie a bit more appreciation for everything she did for us last week. I’d be remiss if I didn’t blog one of my favorite Callie Cline dresses, the formal Citron Lane.

Callie Cline Appreciation Day

21 05 2009

Last week’s Blogger Appreciation Week was amazing, culminating in a day of fun parties where the “uniform” of the day was white tank tops and jeans. It was really interesting to meet some of my fellow bloggers and a few designers as well.  Of course I had to snap a photo.

The sheer amount of gifts has been a bit overwhelming.  I’m in awe at the generosity of the designers and of all the hard work that went into organizing such an event.  It’s a credit to those involved that all ran smoothly and drama-free.

I really never thought about myself being a big part of the fashion community.  I just write my little blog, do my own thing, and hope that the people that do read these pages will perhaps look at fashion in a different way or find a store they’ve never heard of before.  I don’t write to be part of the “fashion press” as some have put it.  But in a way, I guess we bloggers do provide press for designers, and I can imagine that up and coming designers especially benefit from being blogged.  And while I never really thought about my role in the SL Fashion Community before, I have to say, it was nice to be appreciated.

Of course, Blogger Appreciation Week would never have happened if not for the thoughtfulness and creativity of SL Fashion’s own Callie Cline.  I’d never really had any interaction with Callie before Blogger Appreciation Week.  I found her to be very nice and approachable, friendly and kind.  Generous goes without saying as she gave so much of her time and creativity to pull this whole event off, not to mention gifts from her store.  Because of all she has done, today has been declared Calle Cline Appreciation Day, and I thought I’d show you one of my favorite pieces from her very eclectic collection.  In the spirit of cooperation Callie so beautifully showed us this past week, I’m going to pair her wonderful design with an array of interesting pieces and see what kind of fun looks I can come up with.

Alpha Femmes

19 01 2009

Last month, Yelmer Pfeffer of Alphamale released the anxiously awaited first item in the new women’s collection. The Femme shirt is a masterpiece, but I would expect nothing less from the extrodinairy designer of Alphamale.
Available in 17 colors, the Femme shirt is sleek and sophisticated with a gorgeously rich texture that you can’t help but drool over. And the fit is perfect. It’s incredibly flattering, fitting to the curves of a woman’s body about as perfectly as a shirt can. It’s undenieably sexy, yet powerful as well. And call me lazy, but I absolutely love it when I put on a shirt and all the prim pieces fit right where they are suppossed to fit and this shirt does it. I could kiss Yelmer for that..but I won’t. 🙂
