Elin & The Fury

25 01 2010

In case you haven’t heard, LacieCakes has reopened with a brand new build.  The grand opening was this past weekend, and I was honored when Lacie Chambers asked me to do some special photos for the new sim.  There is a really great movie theatre in the new neighborhood and when she asked me to create a photo that looked like a scene from a movie, I was really intrigued.  I love doing fun artsy stuff and I decided to feature her Elin jewelry set in the shots.

Icy Diamonds

19 01 2010

While trying to come up with ideas for the January MDR Party, ice and snow where the only things that kept coming to mind.  So, not wanting to actually celebrate snow,  I decided to do a little play on words and have an “ice” party.  I’m not talking about that frozen water you find outside during the winter months.  No, I’m talking about diamonds.  After all, they are a girls’ best friend, right?  And when I think of diamonds in SL, the first name that comes to mind is Alienbear Gupte.

I’ve long been a fan of Alienbear’s fantastical designs and gorgeous sparkling diamonds. Her jewelry is ornate and beautiful, with rich jewel tones and crystal clear diamonds.  Alienbear Gupte makes high quality pieces, each as unique and creative as anything on the grid.  And while her jewelry can sometimes be a bit high prim, it’s totally worth it.  I always feel like a princess when I’m wearing something from Alienbear, and one of her newest sets, Azucena, definitely keeps that tradition going.

A Quick LOTD

3 01 2010

My friend Maht’s weekly Sunday gigs at the Velvet are definitely one of my weekend highlights.  Good music and good company are never a bad way to spend an evening in any life.  They are also, however, an opportunity for me to put a look together.  I always try to wear something fun and new to his sets, though I do have a few favorites I fall back on from time to time.  For tonight’s set, I created a fun look built around the Three Goddesses Print Tank Top by Blowpop.

Arcadia’s Top Five Lingerie Sets of 2009 – #1

1 01 2010

Technically, I should have been showing you the best lingerie set of 2009 yesterday, but alas my schedule did not work out that way.  Instead, we’re going to spend the first day of the New Year looking back at my favorite lingerie set of 2009.  This is the set that is definitely the most ‘me’.  While I do have that girly, princess side I mentioned before, my dark side always comes first. This set is my darkness turned into lingerie.   My pick for the #1 lingerie set of 2009 is Belle by Blacklace.

Arcadia’s Top Five Lingerie Sets of 2009 – #2

31 12 2009

As we near the end of this lingerie countdown, it’s gets harder and harder to make decisions.  There were so many great releases in lingerie this year, and I probably have them all.  It gets especially hard when you love more than one set from a particular designer.  In the end, though, there is always that one set that stands out above the rest.  #2 on our countdown is Lianna by Reasonable Desires.

Arcadia’s Top Five Lingerie Sets of 2009 – #3

30 12 2009

While I spend most of my time on the darker side of fashion, there is a girly, princess side to my personality that will not be ignored.  Never is this more obvious than when I see pretty lingerie with ribbons and bows.  Number 3 on our countdown of Arcadia’s Top Five Lingerie Sets of 2009 is Jolene by Blowpop.

Noelle, Noelle

22 12 2009

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is finding those special holiday themed sets that are only available during this final month of the year.  It’s a fun way to treat yourself after all of the hustle & bustle of the season (that you are experiencing in both worlds if your life is anything like mine).  And, of course, a favorite place to find such a fun treat is Reasonable Desires.  One of their newest releases is a holiday take on Burlesque called Miss Noelle.
