Lucretia, My Reflection

27 05 2009

I love it when an outfit immediately has me singing lyrics to one of my favorite songs, and this is the case with a new release, Lucretia, from Reasonable Desires.  As soon as I saw the add for this and started spontaneously singing Sisters of Mercy, I knew I had to have it.  Austie Pegler was generous enough to send it to me in addition to all of the other new realeases, some of which I will be showing you in upcoming posts.  But for now…

I hear the sons of the city and dispossessed,
Get down, get undressed
Get pretty but you and me,
We got the kingdom, we got the key
We got the empire, now as then,
We don’t doubt, we don’t take direction,
Lucretia, my reflection, dance the ghost with me

Sing Blue Silver

6 05 2009

When I’m putting together a look, I generally start with one main item and work out from there.  99% of the time, that main item is a shirt, or a pair of pants.  A skirt, perhaps. Sometimes even a dress, though not often. The last thing I always do is accessorize, but just because I put it on last doesn’t mean that I don’t know the importance of a good piece of jewelry.  The right jewelry can really take an outfit to that next level, whether it be chic and elegant, or urban and outrageous.  It is the finishing touch, the final piece of the fashion puzzle.

With this in mind, I decided to honor the closing of Violet Voltaire’s amazing jewerly store by not only showcasing some of her fabulous creations, but also by building the outfits from the jewelry itself.  What once was last is now first.  All of the pieces I use in these next few posts were purchased at Violet Voltaire during her 50% off sale.  This sale, which includes all but a few select items in the main store, is going on until the 16th of May and if you haven’t gotten yourself over there yet, I suggest you stop reading this and do so now.  Well, maybe read this first. 😉

But definitely check it out before it ends.  In addition, she has put out some fabulous dollarbies and deeply discounted items in a building behind the main store, which just so happens to be the first store front she ever had.  There’s lots of fun stuff in there, including lucky chair items and whole collections from Halloween and Christmas, all at bargain prices.

AYUMI x 3

28 04 2009

A few weeks ago, Ayumi Shinn dropped a review item on the SL Bloggers Network in world, a cleavage enhancer that she designed and is selling in her store.  I’d never heard of her store, [AYUMI], before so I decided to go check it out.  She has some really cute stuff, but my favorite was the Button Up Shirt with it’s plunging necklace and thick belt underneath the bust line.  It comes in five colors, and she’s selling them for 150L each, or 250L for the fatpack.  Never one to pass up a deal, I grabbed the fatpack and decided to see what kind of looks I could throw together using this daringly sexy shirt.

Two to Tango

21 04 2009

And apparently it takes two tries to get this post published.  *glares at the internet*

Versatility is the key to any good wardrobe.  Having those pieces that can be worn with several different “looks” can easily double the size of your closet, be it real or virtual.  That’s probably my favorite thing about fashion: taking one item and styling it this way and that.  Of course, my SL wardrobe is considerably larger than my RL one, and I often have things in more than one color.  My virtual wardrobe is versatile beyond belief sometimes.  And sometimes, I even surprise myself with what I come up with.  Take the Madrid skirt from Leezu Baxter, for example.  I adore this skirt, and I own it in both red and this gorgeous teal and blue confection called Candy.  I’ve worn both colors recently, in very different ways.

The Dichotomy of Arcadia…and other newness.

18 04 2009

A few weeks ago, I posted about the Tear You Apart shirt by Rara Avis called Prep School Punk in which I raved about how much I adore said shirt. The one down side I described was that it didn’t come in more colors because I wanted more of them.  Well, Azriel Ballyhoo, the designer, saw my post and contacted me to tell me that I had inspired her to make more of these fantastic little shirts.  She had been thinking of it for awhile, but my post got her motivated again.  I am so happy that I inspired this wonderful designer to add more options for this super sexy shirt.  She is releasing five new versions today and, of course, I am going to show them all to you.  This is probably going to be the longest post ever posted, especially if you are reading this on one of the feeds.  But, I think it’s worth it.  Ready?

Week of Lingerie – Friday

21 03 2009

Despite SL’s best efforts to thwart me, it’s time to end the Week of Lingerie here at Fashion 360°.  Now that my inventory is all cleaned out and organized, it’s time to put the last few pieces into their rightful spots.  And that means we have come full circle to the brand that started this whole idea to begin with:  Blacklace.

I blogged the newest of the new releases on Sunday, but Mariska Simons did release a Valentine’s collection and you know I snagged a few sets.  Before I sort them into their proper places, let’s take a look.

Week of Lingerie – Thursday

20 03 2009

**EDITED**

There are some side benefts to being a photographer in SL.  Sometimes, clients come in with fabulous stuff and they are all too willing to share landmarks with you.  Such as the case with Thursday’s lingerie showcase; Reasonable Desires.

I can’t say I’d ever heard of Reasonable Desires before, but a client of Rhodesy’s came in wearing this cute little vintage lingerie set and I thought it was worth checking out.  There’s a lot of…interesting things there, and it took me awhile to find the set her client was wearing but I prevailed.  And then, there were the color choices.  I’d love if it came in colors other than pastels.  The only red set I found was a Christmas themed one with snowflakes.  It was very cute and I bought it too.  In the end, though, I decided to get Anne in Periwinkle.
