In case you haven’t heard, LacieCakes has reopened with a brand new build. The grand opening was this past weekend, and I was honored when Lacie Chambers asked me to do some special photos for the new sim. There is a really great movie theatre in the new neighborhood and when she asked me to create a photo that looked like a scene from a movie, I was really intrigued. I love doing fun artsy stuff and I decided to feature her Elin jewelry set in the shots.

Arcadia’s Top 5 Lingerie Sets of 2009 – #4
29 12 2009The thing I love most about this little mini countdown of my favorite lingerie sets of 2009 is how different they all are. And not just different in design; they each evoke a different feeling or mindset. Good lingerie should help you feel beautiful and sexy, but it can also set a scene in your mind’s eye, and the set at #4 is definitely one of those – Olear by Movin Lingerie.

Movin Lingerie
28 09 2009Do you ever look at those ads on the iheartsl page? I must admit that I do not always look at them, but every once in a while something catches my eye. Such was the case a few weeks ago when I saw an ad for Movin Lingerie. Always in need of more lingerie, I excitedly tp’d over to this store I’d never heard of before and anxiously waited for things to rez. I wasn’t disappointed…in fact, I think I bought most of the store.
Movin Lingerie is an eclectic mix of styles and colors from modest to not so much and alluring to dead sexy. There aren’t really color options to choose from on most of the outfits. Sort of, the color you see is the color you get. But they do have a few sets that come in different colors for you to choose from. Another thing I enjoyed is the option to buy sets as transferable for gift giving. That is an extra step I really appreciate because gift giving is becoming increasinly difficult in SL.
As I mentioned above, I bought almost the entire store, but one set called to me more than the others. It is my favorite in the entire store, and it’s called Olear.

Do You Flirt?
29 07 2009So if you didn’t hear, ~flirt~ opened a brand new redesigned sim this weekend. The lovely designer behind ~flirt~, Skinkie Winkler, was kind enough to give a few bloggers a gift card to her store, and I had a hard time choosing what to buy. ~flirt~ has so many great pieces, but I did my best.
The first thing I bought was something I’ve been eyeing for quite some time, the FRAGILE! line. I really love the thought process behind this line of jewelry, and the look of it is something I’ve not really seen before. It was designed as a set of High Couture pieces, but I believe it’s versatile enough to wear with any look you can create. Here is part of the notecard you’ll receive from ~flirt~ when you buy the set. I think this says it much better than I can.
“The FRAGILE! series of high couture statment jewellery from ~flirt~ is a range of individual pieces hand-crafted from glass and sterling silver. The dichotomy of the materials is a reflection of the human condition. More specifically, FRAGILE! represents our innermost self and how we choose to display it to the outside world. Oftentimes our core is tender, easily broken, sensitive. We choose either to display this and risk damage, or to protect it, sheathing it from harm, but also covering it’s reflective beauty. Considering these two states, Skinkie Winkler created a range of dramatic pieces to be worn as a statement, alone or combined with others in the range. It is purposeful that no “set” of necklace, earrings and bangles has been put together: No two individuals are the same, and Skinkie feels it is not her place to choose on your behalf which goes with which. Predictable, Unpredictable, Swayed, Twisted or Split… what makes up your unique self?”
All of the pieces are exquisite really, but in the end, I chose those pieces that spoke to me the most: Unpredictable & Twisted. Sounds like me, right? For this look, I wanted to do something in true “Arcadia Style,” and even though it’s not Couture, I think it turned out pretty well.

Callie Cline Appreciation Day Part 2
22 05 2009Just a quick post to show Callie a bit more appreciation for everything she did for us last week. I’d be remiss if I didn’t blog one of my favorite Callie Cline dresses, the formal Citron Lane.

Mix and Match The Night Away!
14 04 2009I’ve given up on doing the entire Bunny Hop Hunt for several reasons. It’s just too big and too hard and my inventory is already too chaotic to add another 200+ items that it will take me months to sort through. So I asked myself which stores I’d be sad to miss and just hopped to those places. One of those places was Baiastice.
I’ve always thought Baiastice to be one of the most interesting stores on the Grid, and I tend to have very strong reactions to the designs of Sissy Pessoa. There is no internal debate for me while shopping there. If I own it, it was an instant “I love it and must have it right now” decision. And I’m always excited to find new stuff out at Baiastice because there is the possibility that she’s done something that will blow me away. Imagine my delight to have stumbled upon an entire area of new stuff (well new to me, anyway) while hunting for yet another elusive easter egg. It was an area of mix and match seperates that I was really excited to see at Baiastice. And, of course, a few things immediately grabbed my attention. The first was this lovely, soft silk top.
