Swirly

1 03 2010

When Sascha Frangilli passed me one of her newest releases for review, the name perplexed me a bit.  An outfit that consists of black and houndstooth doesn’t immediately bring the word swirly to mind.  But once I got into the folders and saw the sheer number of mix and match possibilities, I understood a bit better.  Yes, my mind was swirling with all of the style options that Swirly offers you and I had a lot of fun putting different looks together.  For my first look, I wanted to contrast the classic houndstooth pattern of the jacket with a very modern twist.

I paired the jacket with the short black sculpty skirt.  This is probably my favorite skirt; it’s just so fun.  To complete the look, I added the Prestige boots from Bax Coen and the Bun hair in Multi, by Magika.  I love these boots with this short skirt.   Oh, and I changed the boots so that the top cuffs were down, just for an added flair.

The jewelry is from Violet Voltaire; part of her Alice in Wonderland collection, and I liked that it brought a little splash of red to the look, which tied in wonderfully with the hair. Swirly comes with this great black and silver belt as well. It’s a great finishing touch to the look.

The second look I put together was classic, with the knee length skirt and the houndstooth jacket.  I added pearls from Caroline’s and the Davina II hair from ETD for a more polished look.  The shoes are by Maitreya Gold – the Shanti shoes in black.  I’ve said it before and I will say it again.  I love these shoes so much.  They’re simply perfect.

The third look I put together has a more vintage feel, and I used the black top this time and paired it with the knee length flexi skirt.  The hair is Aiiyanna from ETD.  I wanted a classic updo with this look.  The jewelry is from Chloe and had both a classic and a vintage feel to it that went well with the dress.  The shoes are the Esprit from Maitreya Gold in black.

Sascha’s Designs is one of my favorite stores and I love that she gives you so many skirt options with her designs.  But Swirly takes that to a whole new level because it comes with a ton of style options!  You can choose between the black or the houndstooth tops and you get several skirt styles, including a cocktail length skirt and a formal length skirt, should you choose to wear it as more of an evening gown look.  You can take it in so many different directions…classic, vintage, modern, etc.  Have fun mixing and matching with Swirly.  It’s definitely an inventory essential.
