Can You Survive The Pyramid of Death?

31 10 2009

Looking for something fun to do on Halloween?  There are several fabulous Halloween-themed builds out there on the grid, but I wanted to show you one you may not have heard of yet: The Mysterious Pyramid of Death.  The lovely ladies at Reasonable Desire have put up a really fun and interactive build that’s perfect for a Halloween date night or hanging out with a group of friends.  And speaking of Reasonable Desires, if you’re still looking for a ready-to-wear costume this is the place to go.  They have an amazing array of fun costumes from the sexy bubbles costume to the historical pilot Amelia.  As a bonus, if you make it out of the pyramid alive, you’ll recieve one of their costumes as a free gift.  But getting it won’t be as easy as you think.

For your mini tour of the Pyramid of Death, I’m wearing one of the newer costumes at Reasonable Desires, Explorer Jane.  I thought it appropriate for traipsing around an ancient pyramid.  I feel sort of like a female version of Indiana Jones in this, or maybe it’s just me channeling my inner Angelina Jolie.  It comes with a hat and socks as well, but I opted not to wear those.  You get two options for shorts; the regular ones I’m wearing and the “short shorts”.  It also comes with a whip and a leg knife, useful for those rougher parts of the Pyramid.

I’m not going to show you the entire Pyramid because that would spoil all the fun, and believe me this place is really fun to try and get through.  There are obstacles and puzzles for you to solve on your way through.  Be on the lookout for the bloody clipboards, as they will give you information you may find useful.  And no, the blood is not mine despite my inability to figure out this puzzle next to me without some help.

The Pyramid of Death is part maze, part obstacle course, part puzzle and is sure to keep you engaged and interested the entire way through.  You’ll be picking up objects along the way to help you get through and, in some instances, to just make things easier.  Martini Joliat of Reasonable Desires did an amazing job on the build.  It’s visually stunning, and the atmosphere is spooky without being overly done.  It’s not the typical haunted halloween place.  This is more, well…Indiana Jones.  You definitely have to keep your wits about you in this place.  There’s always something unexpected lurking around a corner, or coming out of a wall. Not paying attention could lead to disastrous consequences.

To truly channel my inner Angelina Jolie, I put on the Diva hair by Magika.  I thought it worked really well with this costume.  The skin is by ::Exodi:: – Shiloh (Honey) in Water Lily. I liked the colors of this makeup option the best with this particular costume.

For shoes, only the Traveler Boots from Lassitude & Ennui would work.  You have to have a good pair of hiking boots to go exploring in an ancient pyramid, I tell you.

Luckily for us all, the Mysterious Pyramid of Death is open all year round, not just during the Halloween season.  But it would be extra spooky to go on this particular night, and I still say it’s the perfect Halloween date night activity.  So grab a date or a friend and check it out.  You could even brave the Pyramid alone.  However you choose to visit, I wish you good luck.
Happy Halloween!
