Crochet Goes Urban

18 08 2009

Crochet is not a word that appears often in my inventory, I must admit.  Not that I have anything against crocheted items; it’s just not a look I’m normally drawn to.  But when Shelly Toonie of Moonshine Designs posted a photo of her new crochet stockings on Plurk, I knew I had to have them.  Shelly was nice enough to send over a Bloggy Bag (and create a new term for review packs while she was at it), and as soon as I put them on I loved them even more.

They are…different in a really fun way.  Because of the texture, they lend a whole new aesthetic to your look, yet are versatile enough to wear with a wide variety of outfits.

Another new release in the Bloggy Bag were the Candylegs striped socks.  These socks are super cute, and you can wear only the socks or pair them up with the crocheted stockings as I’ve done here.  They work perfectly together, and in the store, you have the option to buy a fatpack of both the stockings and socks together.  You can also buy the socks and stockings in individual fatpacks.

To create this look, I paired the stockings with a short and fun A-Line skirt from WRONG and the Sanrio shirt from Decoy, which wasn’t my first thought as I tend to think of Decoy for more casual looks, but Sanrio went with this outfit perfectly.  The hair is Robin by Magika, and the skin is from ::Exodi:: of course.  I very rarely venture out of Ryker Beck’s Shiloh skin.

The finishing touches are the boots and jewelry: the Ving boots from Shiny Things and lots of accessories from Urban Dare, including the Leg Strap with Needles that I got during their Sim Opening hunt.  I love that set.  The choker is from Refuge and is a really great piece that I don’t wear nearly as often as I should.

To show off these fabulous stockings and striped socks from Moonshine, I chose a few of the new poses from Lost Angel – the Summer Crash set.  These poses are amazing, as everything Lost Angel does is.

If you’re looking for a pair of sexy stockings that are a bit different from the norm, definitely check out Moonshine Designs’ new Crochet Stockings.  Pair them with the Moonshine Candylegs socks or wear them alone.  Either way, you’ll love the versatility and look of this new release.
