While going through my inventory last night, I realized that I’d meant to blog the Waterfall gown from Sascha’s Designs last week. Alas, my rl work schedule got in the way. But I decided to go ahead and blog it now because better late than never, right? That should so be the tagline for this blog.
I never go to any grand ball’s or lavish parties, but I must admit that I love ballgowns. There is something so elegant and beautiful about a well made gown that I find hard to resist. Such is the case with one of the newer releases at Sascha’s Designs – Ethereal. Sascha Frangilli was kind enough to gift me with this gorgeous gown in Argent, which is a lush silver color. The dress can be worn in three different ways and it comes with a really well done hat. Unfortunately, hats and my avatar are not a good combination generally, but it’s a gorgeous piece and certainly gives you options. I chose to wear the full ballgown skirt, but will include the vendor ad at the end of this post so that you can see how versatile this dress is.
Swimsuit season is upon us, both in rl and in sl, and nowhere is this more evident than in the newest releases from MichaMi. The beautiful and talented Milla Michinaga has designed two very sexy swimsuits just in time to hop in the pool or laze around the beach. One is a bikini, and the other, a one-piece–a stunning one-piece that immediately caught my eye. I raced over to MichaMi and stood there for at least ten minutes trying to decide which color of Yolanda to buy. I loved most of them, but decided one new swimsuit was probably enough. So after agonizing for awhile, I picked out Yolanda in Cream.
The 50% off sale at Violet Voltaire ends this weekend! Only a few days left to get your hands on her fabulous jewelry before most of it disappears off the grid. I’ve been fighting the urge to go and buy every single piece, just because I hate the thought of stumbling across an outfit one day in the future and kicking myself for not buying something when I had the chance. Silly? Perhaps…but a good fashionista is always prepared.
I’ve talked at length about how versatile the jewelry sets at Violet Voltaire are, but have I mentioned how well they go with other designer peices? Take, for example, the Hethr Necklace, one of the sale items I bought on my last trip over there. I love this cute little crown necklace, but it didn’t come with any matching accessories. Thankfully, though, it is easily mixed and matched with other pieces.

This week has been pretty huge for me in world. Fellow photographer Rhodesy Durant and I have taken over at MDR Photo Studio from Cajsa Lilliehook and Maht Wuyts. It’s been bittersweet in a lot of ways. The end of an era, I guess you could say. I’ll miss working with them, but thankfully we are good friends and will see each other often enough. I hope Rhodesy and I can continue the great MDR tradition that Maht and Cajsa began. On the other hand, being in charge means lots of decision making and general stress. So with that in mind, I decided I wanted to do something a little celebratory and fun for my second post building an outfit from the jewelry out with a set from Violet Voltaire.
While perusing through the many folders named Violet Voltaire in my inventory, I came across the Dollie set and knew immediately that I wanted to blog it tonight. It just made me smile. The silver key motif is quite delicate with diamond accents to give it a touch of elegance. What I like most about this set, besides the fact that it’s made of silver and diamonds, is the versatility of it. You can wear it with an elegant dress for a night out or with a shirt and a pair of jeans if you want to go casual. The diamonds on the earrings and necklace make it perfect for an interesting formal look.
