Valentine Glam

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and, as it is my RL birthday, I thought it would be appropriate to do some valentine themed posts.  Having your birthday on Valentine’s Day can sometimes be problematic especially if, like me, the whole cutesy heart and flowers stuff isn’t really you.  The only time I wear heart anything is if there’s a skull, screws, or something else attached to it.  But red is my favorite color, so I decided to stick with the color scheme of the holiday for the upcoming looks.  Instead of cutesy heart and candy type stuff, I’m going to do Valentine’s Day my way (it’s my birthday, I’m allowed) and focus on looks that are edgy and modern, sexy and flirty, dark and mysterious.  For the first look, I’m starting off with a look inspired by today’s SL Daily Deal – the Sweet Stacked Rings by alaMood in Pink Burst.

Blazing a Trail with COCO

COCO is fast becoming one of my favorite stores.  The love affair started with the Slim Fit pants in silver, continued on through those same pants in every available color, and has now moved forward into every aisle of the store.  The designs of Cocoro Lemon are stylish and varied.  Seriously…I challenge you to go into that store and not find at least one thing that catches your eye.  From shoes and accessories, to separates and dresses; there is a little bit of everything at COCO. 

Recently, I snagged this fantastic black bomber jacket.  And when I say fantastic, I mean F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!  It’s cropped just about the waist and the sculpted attachments add just the right flair.  I love the little details here, especially the tabs on the zippers.  The pushed up sleeves sort of give it an edge, and I decided to take it in the direction of biker chic.

A Quick LOTD

My friend Maht’s weekly Sunday gigs at the Velvet are definitely one of my weekend highlights.  Good music and good company are never a bad way to spend an evening in any life.  They are also, however, an opportunity for me to put a look together.  I always try to wear something fun and new to his sets, though I do have a few favorites I fall back on from time to time.  For tonight’s set, I created a fun look built around the Three Goddesses Print Tank Top by Blowpop.

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is finding those special holiday themed sets that are only available during this final month of the year.  It’s a fun way to treat yourself after all of the hustle & bustle of the season (that you are experiencing in both worlds if your life is anything like mine).  And, of course, a favorite place to find such a fun treat is Reasonable Desires.  One of their newest releases is a holiday take on Burlesque called Miss Noelle.

Lingerie For Charity

 

As I mentioned in my last post, my friend Maht is doing a marathon DJ set this weekend at the Velvet.  He is giving all of the tips to charity – Heifer International’s Easter Uganda Umbrella Project.  To help with this charity event, several designers have given little gifts to be handed out during the event to those who are kind enough to make a donation.  Maht will have a gift box with items from Musashi-Do, Shiki Designs, MCD Designs, and more.  In addition to that box o’ gifts, I will have a few things to hand out as well.  One of those items is a new release from Reasonable Desires:  Lianna.
