A new release from Leezu Baxter is always cause for celebration. She is one of the most unique designers on the grid and, even if one of her designs isn’t exactly my style, I am always intrigued by it. More often than not, however, it is exactly my style and I can’t wait to tp over to her store and snag a few colors. Such was the case with this newest release, the Mailiin Blouse.
Very rarely do I blog something the same day it lands in my inventory. Between my SL and rl work schedules, I’m lucky if I can get something blogged the same week. But because this fantastic dress by Kyoot is an exclusive 50L Friday item, it had to be done today. And it had to be done today because YOU can only get it today. And believe me, you want this dress.
When Sascha Frangilli passed me one of her newest releases for review, the name perplexed me a bit. An outfit that consists of black and houndstooth doesn’t immediately bring the word swirly to mind. But once I got into the folders and saw the sheer number of mix and match possibilities, I understood a bit better. Yes, my mind was swirling with all of the style options that Swirly offers you and I had a lot of fun putting different looks together. For my first look, I wanted to contrast the classic houndstooth pattern of the jacket with a very modern twist.
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and, as it is my RL birthday, I thought it would be appropriate to do some valentine themed posts. Having your birthday on Valentine’s Day can sometimes be problematic especially if, like me, the whole cutesy heart and flowers stuff isn’t really you. The only time I wear heart anything is if there’s a skull, screws, or something else attached to it. But red is my favorite color, so I decided to stick with the color scheme of the holiday for the upcoming looks. Instead of cutesy heart and candy type stuff, I’m going to do Valentine’s Day my way (it’s my birthday, I’m allowed) and focus on looks that are edgy and modern, sexy and flirty, dark and mysterious. I’m going against the norm today and not blogging any clothing. I’m not blogging about jewelry, or shoes, or hair and I’m not blogging a new skin, either. Today, I’m blogging a tattoo.
A few weeks ago, my friend Aldwyn Zanzibar approached me about a project he was thinking of; a tattoo showcase of sorts where we can all show off the ink we wear in world. That project never got off the ground, but I loved the photos I took for it so much I just had to blog them.
Tattoos serve a myriad of functions. They can be symbolic or just for fun. They can be intricate or incredibly simple. They can be works of art where skin is the canvas and you marvel at the brush strokes of the creator. In RL, I have three tattoos. In SL, my options are limitless and tattoos have become a third category of accessories in my inventory. They can add flair or strength to the right outfit; they can add an edge of sexiness to a look. I have a lot of tattoos in SL, but my favorite is a full body tattoo from Dream Ink Design.
