**Guest Post – Glowing**

12 09 2009

**Rhodesy Durant, friend and fellow MDR Photographer, has done another guest blog post. This time, she’s talking about her newly purchased skin.  Of course, I had to try it on too!  But as is the case with so many, it didn’t really work for my avatar.  I think it’s gorgeous though, so I encouraged Rhodesy to share her find with all of you.  Enjoy!**

My second life began over 3 years ago, and in that time I blush to tell you the vast number of skins I have purchased. I’ve been wearing my current skin almost exclusively for over two years. I’ve blogged about it here before.

And while I’ve been very happy with my every day skin, I never could quite stop the search for others. I’ve spent thousands of lindens on skins I thought I liked, wore around my friends once, and then never donned again. I’ve tried hundreds of lindens worth of demos too. And then, this week, I donned a demo skin that was as good as my normal one but upgraded.  I still looked like myself. I just looked…more clearly defined. And then I took my clothes off, and it was all over but paying for the skin pack. My rear end and cleavage has never looked so well defined or realistic! This skin manages to lend curvy lines to an otherwise demurely small figure.

After walking around for 3 days wearing a demo skin and getting Arcadia’s opinion so many times she probably wanted to hurt me, I broke down and bought it. And Arcadia insisted I blog it for all of you to enjoy as well. LAQ’s new Glow Skins absolutely work for my avatar! Below, I’ve posted some tasteful pics so that you too can appreciate the attention to detail that was put into this skin. Specifically, I’ll draw your attention to the knuckles and kneecaps.

Cocktails, Anyone?

8 09 2009

Since buying the fatpack of the Shanti shoes by Maitreya Gold, I’ve decided to try to come up with an outfit for every single color in said fatpack, even the ones I would not normally wear.  A lofty goal, perhaps, but as I am ruined for regular avatar feet now, I don’t see me taking these off for a while.  Why not play around with variety then?  It is what this blog is about, after all.  For today’s look, I started with the Shanti shoes in Cerulean.

I love the color Cerulean, and the word is just fun to say really.  For this pair of the Shanti shoes, I wanted something elegant but not too formal.  A little cocktail dress that was glamourous and sexy, but not over the top. The Soft Ruffle Dress from Baiastice turned out to be the perfect match.

Review – Isabel by Insolence

7 09 2009

It has been well established that my love of lingerie knows no bounds, so it should not come as a shock to learn how excited I get when I see an offline inventory offer from Camilla Yosuke of Insolence.  It is one of the few times I feel like I am in a rush to get home and log in so I can see the wonderful newness she has created.  The newest set, Isabel, does not disappoint. In fact, I will go so far as to say I think this is one of her best pieces.

Crochet Goes Urban

18 08 2009

Crochet is not a word that appears often in my inventory, I must admit.  Not that I have anything against crocheted items; it’s just not a look I’m normally drawn to.  But when Shelly Toonie of Moonshine Designs posted a photo of her new crochet stockings on Plurk, I knew I had to have them.  Shelly was nice enough to send over a Bloggy Bag (and create a new term for review packs while she was at it), and as soon as I put them on I loved them even more.

In League With Lost Angel

12 07 2009

While talking to Rhodesy the other day, I made a comment to the effect of, “my love for Lost Angel knows no bounds.”  The more I think about that, the more true I realize it is.  If lindens were no object, I’d own everything Lost Angel sells; maybe even two of some things. My latest purchase from Lost Angel is the Dormeuse Deejay set, and I can’t put into words how fantastic this set is.  For only 575L you get the lounger with pillows (color changing) and a rug, the accessories, and a pair of headphones for wearing on both your head and your neck.  The set comes with five fantastic poses and is scripted with a drop down menu for easy use.  I knew I had to show it off (and some of the new regular poses I bought while I was there), and to do so I decided to put together a cool, yet sexy look.  The first piece in that puzzle was definitely the latest release from League: the Garage jeans.
